Dragon fruit of the genus Cactus is also available in Bangladesh in abundance. It is produced in the country. The price is also within reach. There are three species of dragon fruit, the red dragon fruit or pitaya, the Costa Rican dragon fruit, and the yellow dragon fruit. The color of the red dragon fruit peel is red but the shell is white. The fruits of this species are more common in Bangladesh. Costa Rican dragon fruit peels and shells are red in color. The peel of yellow dragon fruit is yellow in color but the shell is white in color.


The sweet-tasting dragon fruit bears night-blooming flowers that look a lot like night queen flowers, tall, white and yellow. This fruit is also very attractive to look at and is eaten raw. Cultivating this exotic fruit is very easy. A tree becomes a tree when cuttings are planted. Dragon fruit can be easily planted in drums/buckets/grow bags or in soil on rooftops and does well in our country's climate.


It is low in calories so it is good for 'diet'. People with diabetes and heart disease can eat it easily. Dragon fruit contains a lot of vitamin C, so eating this fruit increases the body's immune system and skin.
