Kochur Loti is a very old recipe of Bengal. It tastes great. You can cook it in various ways. You cook it with coconut, shrimp, and fish, and just Kochur Loti will leave the plate empty in no time. Today,  appeared with another Kochur Loti recipe like that. A little bit of stuffing. My mother's recipe. If you try this Kochur Loti Chorchori made by my wife's hands once, you will remember it for the rest of your life. I also made it today at noon. And so, I came to share with my friends, I mean with you.


Preparation time: 1 hour

Cooking time: 30 minutes

Total time: 1 hour and 30 minutes

Serving: 3-4 people

Ingredients for Kochur Loti Chorchori recipe:

  • 500 g Kochur Loti
  • 1 cup chopped Onion
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard seed paste
  • 1 tablespoon Red Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seed paste
  • 1 teaspoon Fennel paste
  • 4-6 Green Chili splited
  • Salt (as per taste)
  • Mustard oil (as per need)


Method

Step 1:

First, clean the Loti, it is very tuff work because, you have to take every piece of Loti and have to peel it off, and Loti`s peel is very hard to off. After peeling off all the Loti then rinse it well with clean water.



Step 2:

Take a big-size cooking pot and add one by one Kochur Loti, chopped onion, garlic paste, fennel paste, mustard seed paste, cumin seed paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, green chili split, salt, and mustard oil, and mix all the ingredients very well with your hand. After mixing all the ingredients very well keep it for 10 minutes at room temperature for good marination. 



Step 3:

After 10 minutes set the cooking pot on a cooking stove and set the flame to medium-low. Then cover and cook for about 30 minutes. After 30 minutes uncover the pot and check the Loti (water in the curry will be reduced to the bottom and the Loti will be perfectly cooked. Now your Kochur Loti chorchori is ready. 



Serving:

It is the main course recipe and you can serve it with rice for lunch or dinner. You can also serve also red lentils as a side dish it will match perfectly. And don`t forget to serve lemon along with the Kochur Loti chorchori.
